My thought of Today...Jumping to Conclusions.

I am so tired of people jumping to conclusions. I was at a blog yesterday (last night). I made a comment that was directed to the people that were in the blog entry. They were talking about how the women republicans are going to boycott Oprah and her magazine because she refuses to have Governor Palin on her show.

Well majority of us said that Oprah has the right to do what she wants on her show. So Come on, it is her show, they are a bunch of anger white women that wants to make a big deal out of nothing. I was correct about it too. Oprah already stated that she would have Palin on her show after the election. She did not want her show to be a political forum.

O why in the Lord did I say that. I had white women thinking I was talking about them. I was like if you read my response I was not stating all white women. I was saying those women that are boycotting Oprah.

We all know that most of Oprah viewers are middle class to high class white women. Heck those are the ones she normally have on her show anyway. So why jump to the conclusion that I was referring to you..

I have to learn not to be so blunt and direct when stating something. It is too many sensitive people on the net. Why get angry over something another person writes when it was in the comment section in the first place, it wasn't directed to you. It was directed to the person who wrote the entry. It was my response to what she wrote, not the person who wrote it and those who viewed her blog.

Stop jumping to conclusions and read the dern blog... I think people just pick and choose what they want to read. Then try to piggy back on what others think..

My Thoughts of Today....Today's Hip Hop....

I am a music fan to my heart. Music tend to motivated and inspire me. If I am down and out, I put on one of my favorite songs and go with it. I know a lot of you have said that today's rap game is not as it used to be. I can so agree with you on that. Yet there are some people out there that has it going on. I can hear some of their songs and really like it. There are others that just needs to hang up there hats.

Well now a days a lot of them are not doing it for the love of it. It is mostly for the money and fame of it all. It is sad, because when I grew up with it had a meaning. It was all about getting a point across and for the love of Hip Hop. It was something that belonged to us. It was our fubu in the music industry.

Now it is everyone is trying to rap. You see rap on commercials and even in schools. The heavy metal bands are resorting to some type of rap. So when did rap really become commercialized? I think that it became that was when rappers started rapping about material things. You know the Gucci, the bling bling, and the Cars.

Once the makers of these items knew that they were going to profit from it. BOOM now rap is in the mainstream. We have a lot of rappers turning to it too. You know Diddy, LL, and 50 getting into all types of marketing deals. I guess they feel like me, rap is going to change again someday. So we need get into into else. I don't blame them one bit. It is all about money these days. Why not make a profit?

Now back to the music part of it. I miss those rap song about freedom, justices for all, and self empowerment. I was rocking Public Enemy, X Clan, even Tupac before Death Row. I think rap back then was fun, you could dance to almost any of them songs. They all had good meanings behind them.

Self Destruction stills need to be played today. I think our communities need it. Our young kids are still trying to make the quick dollar with drugs and guns. They want to be so much of the thug they see in the music industry. The parents need to be there and to tell their children it is just ENTERTAINMENT. Don't mock these guys they aren't doing half of the stuff they rap about.

Don't get me wrong I love Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross. They are very gifted in their own right. I could sit and listen to Young Jeezy all day if I had to. He is just one of the best rappers out there right now. He is just not getting the attention as he should. I know Lil Wayne is a powerhouse at this point. I give them their prompts where it is due.

I want more rappers to come out with something to guide us to a better direction for our people. Reach out to the youth in a postive way, like rappers of the past used to do. Still continue to give back to the communities in which you came from.

So you see today's Hip Hop isn't all that bad, it is just going into a different directions...

Stop the Violence and kick the Science (Technology)... We gonna need it...

My thought of Today...

I was thinking about bringing my thought of the day back over here. I guess you can say I found out what I really wanted to do with this Blogger account. I will still post my main stuff over there on Mahoganydymond.Net.

In spite of all this commotion about Palin's Daughter being pregnant at 17. I am so tired of seeing teenage girls Pregnant. When I was growing up, I was so scared of my mother that I even backed off a lot of times having sex. I am not going to say I didn't have sex at an early age though. I was young and doubt like most of the girls my age were.

When I turned 13 I asked my mother could I have birth control. She didn't like it, but she knew that If I asked then I needed to be on it. So at the age of 13 my mother took me to the doctor to make sure I was going to protect myself from having a child. Also gave me the run down on STD's. It was one saying that my mother used to help make that decision in my life. "If you bring a child in the house before you graduate high school, you life will not be your own..." That stuck with me. I was a spoiled brat and thinking that I had to share my life. The selfishness kicked in then. I was like I am no way going to disappoint my mother. She already had a lot of disappointmentin her life.

I never got pregnant until I was 18 and I was in college. I lost that baby and 2 other babies after that. I later found out that I wasn't able to have children. So it hurts me to see that young girls having babies and giving up their childhood to become a parent. Giving life is a wonderful thing, but it should be done in a stable home.

I see so many of those young girls not finishing school. The men or boys that laid down with them isn't there for them. Then the child has to go without most things because the mother don't have the money to give them. A lot of the kids end up with the grandparents or the system. Some of the girls mistreat the kids cause they didn't get a chance to live their life.

We got to stop the maddness. We have to be their to teach these girls to wait. If they feel that waiting is not a option, give them birthcontrol. A child does not need to bring a child in this world.
