I happened to run across my FB photo album.. When I saw one of my pictures back when I had dreads.. I almost fell out my chair... I miss my dreads... I hate that I got rid of them..
The only reason why I cut them back when I did was because I got tired of the labels. I got tired of people looking at me all funny.. Here in the south some just don't know.. Yet now since it is a BOOMING in natural hair.. I think more people will STOP with all the looks.. Another reason was because my sister had them.. I did it to be somewhat different....
After trying this fro.. I am not liking it all too well.. It has started getting on my nerves.. I don't know what in the heck to do with it... I don't know excatly when I am going to start them again.. What I do know.. It is going to happen before the end of the year....
Update# I started my dreads back in October 2011

Well, I still get the looks...when I made my emergency trip back to the South last month, I still got the looks and having folks not believing that it was indeed my hair. And having to give them the dirty look when they try to touch them...lol. I hope you decide to grow them back; you are super duper phiiine with them ;-)
The dreads were a nice look.
Aww Thanks Moni....
Thanks Reggie....
I remember the day I cut my dreads the rest of the way off. I was mad when I had cut them shorter because "we weren't allowed to have hair past our shoulders" only to come back the next day and be told oh well you aren't allowed to have that hair style at all. Only to meet my female coworkers the next day and see them with braids, cornrows and everything else.
To say I was pissed is an understatement, but I was pissed at myself. I cut them for lies and a failing situation, but life goes on.
I understand Prime.. I was mad at myself.. I felt that my hair hindered me from success at my job.. Cause I would always here the higher ups always talking about it.. Now I hate that I went along with it.. Heck they don't like my afro either.. They aren't going to win though.. I WILL NOT put a perm in my head...
